It’s that time of year again, raking leaves, digging in the garden beds for winter and here in Germany, it’s time to close down the beer gardens. We have had an extremely lovely fall, and so most of the beer gardens have stayed open a bit longer than usual. The Fischer Vroni (smoked fish) stand here, at the Augustiner, stayed open until mid-month (very unusual). Though it is always a bit sad here Munich to kiss goodbye our favorite hangouts, we do have some winter fun to look forward to. The Augustiner Keller is a bit special because it builds a mountain hut for cozy meals and 6 lovely, ice lanes for curling (more on that in future posts) to help while away the cold winter months ahead. Until then, it is “goodnight Gracie” for the beer garden.
